Over the last few years, I've assembled a supercool kitchen with the help of many of you on this thread here. I took out many of the parts as I rehabbed it (so they wouldn't get lost.) Now, I keep finding 'special' parts and I have no idea what they were used for. That's why I'm introducing a new game-

'Name That Part'

Hints - The things that I have disassembled and it could be from
1 GE Kitchen Center / Wonderkitchen
2 GE Wallmound Wonderkitchen Fridges
2 GE upper freezer two door fridges
1 Philco V-Handle fridge
3 Chambers ranges (Green, Yellow, White 60C - lowback)
5 GE Cabinettes
20 GE Steel Kitchen cabinets
6 St. Charles curved cabinets
1 Magic Chef oven

(below are a few of the 'before' photos)

Do we need to tune in next week for the "after" shots?

Pot rack?

This part pulls out. Can anyone figure out how I can convert this inta a pullout potholder/pot rack? Any idea what was it originally for?

I don't even know what cabinet it came from or how I could attach it. I am guessing that it came out of one of my lower GE steel kitchen center cabinets based on the color matching some lower cabinets (that came from Cedar Rapids.)

Anyone have one of these things installed? Somebody suggested it was a dishrag rack, but that would be such a huge what a waste of space - it's hard for me to imagine giving up a who cabinet for a towel holder. That's a lot of prescious real estate!

My kitchen is still a work in progress - as I try to figure out what these parts are for ... I promise 'After' pictures will slowly be posted as I manage to get all the mess out of certain areas.

Dish towel rack

We had this in our kitchen when I was young.

The house was built in 1947 and had metal cabinets until about 1974 when the kitchen was remodeled and relocated.

I think it was in a narrow cabinet next to the sink, but it was quite a while ago so I could be wrong. It may have been in the sink cabinet. Will have to see if there are any pictures.

I have seen that before -- under the kitchen sink for dishtowels to dry on.

I was hoping it wasn't a private part ("It pulls out

Anywho, I bought this house in 97. The house dated from 1941, but the kitchen was remodeled in the 70's (complete with Corning glass electric cooktop, and wood veneer cabinetry). Under the kitchen sink is one of those pull out towel racks. I rarely use it, and it's in great shape.
