There's one of these for free and in proper working order on the local CL. My FWB could use this 3/4 size machine in his apartment kitchen, and on-line reviews are overwhelmingly positive. It has a stainless steel interior, claims to hold eight place settings, yet exterior width measurement is only 17-3/4". I assume SPT is a Chinese company (but read that they have a facility in California).
One thing the manufacturer's information indicates is that drying is (attempted) via residual heat, which would need assistance from having the door manually cracked open after the machine shuts off. Even the linked review mentions wet dishes after the cycle has completed, and this was a common complaint among on line reviews as well. For such a seemingly capable dishwasher, I wonder why they skimped on a heated dry.
It also sounds like later models now offer an override/diverter button on the unicoupler so the sink faucet can still be used while the machine is running. It would be inconvenient not to have faucet access for up to two hours.
If anyone has experience with this dishwasher, please share here. I'm really tired of hand-washing dishes at his place, and so is he!
