Hey everybody, hope you're all safe and sound during these trying times.
As some of you who I speak with off the forums know, my 1998 portable General Electric Potscrubber dishwasher keeps having temper tantrums and I'm sick of messing around with the thing. Sometimes it leaks a little, sometimes it leaks a lot, sometimes it doesn't leak at all. Sometimes it washes beautifully, sometimes it's yibble city. All of this is random, with no change to my loading habits, detergent, water temperature, etc. This is all after I've replaced the door seal, the pump, and the hoses, all with genuine GE parts. I only paid $100 for it 3 years ago and it's now over 20 years old, so I really don't feel like it owes me anything. I'm looking to acquire something a bit more on the vintage side. My holy grail would be a 1980s Maytag JetClean, although those seem to be hard enough to find as builtins, let alone as portables. I am wide open to whatever may be offered in usable condition; Maytag, KitchenAid, Whirlpool/Kenmore, etc. (Though I really would rather avoid another GE!) Color doesn't matter. I can always throw a cover over it if it doesn't go with my kitchen. I am located in Northeastern Pennsylvania and would prefer not to have to go farther than 4 or 5 hours away to find something. Thanks in advance for any help!

1985-95 WP Power-Clean or its twin KM Ultra-wash.
If you want to go a little more vintage and still have something that works get a KA kd15-20 series or a mid 70s through 80s WP portable.
The next runner ups would be MTs from mid 70s through the mid 90s, but the earlier MTs are noisy and none of the MTs hold as much as the others I listed, The 90s MTs are not much better than the standard tub GE you have now, they also have the stupid wash tower in the middle of the lower rack.

I will keep an eye out, the great thing about portable DWs is a lot are purchased and often not used.
In an area like where I live is that virtually all houses have a built-in DW and people move here and bring a portable with them that never gets used and eventually gets donated and we find these almost unused DWs.
