Didn't realize they made vented Custom Imperials at this time.

It's 1966, right? What I wouldn't do for the matching washer.

Too bad the cover appears to be missing for the condenser, Just try finding a porcelain turquoise cover.

If someone here gets this neat dryer I may still have a Honey-beige cover from one of these I scraped years ago.

Ah - John, I forgot the F. The most important part! These ‘65 CI models don’t use the trouble prone electronic control, correct?

Sent the seller a message. If they have the bottom cover and no one else is on it I may see about getting it shipped up here.

Ben

Hi Ben, Yes this 65 model does not have the electronic control, The turquoise 66 CI pair we have does have an EC, in our limited experience with these EC 60s FD dryers we have found them to be about totally reliable       [ unlike the company that introduced EC dryers to the world ]

The EC FD dryers used a Texas instrument control, these were the same TI controls that the 65-67 Lady Kenmore and KM 800 dryers used and were very reliable.

I remember working for MT in the mid s 70s how we struggled to get MT HOH EC dryers to work properly, Our MT service rep even asked me once why MT couldn't get their controls to work like Sears did.

In the many years we also serviced KM dryers we never saw one where the EC did not work properly, and you could even adjust how dry you wanted your clothing.

Hope you can get this FD dryer, I do like this newer style FD condenser dryers, I have one in each house in fact. And if the access panel is missing it might look good with a Honey-beige panel on your Turquoise dryer.

The electronic dry control never worked properly on my DG306 and only worked at least twice and that is why it’s a DG306 now. The electronic dry control either works really good or is a complete pain to get it to work and if it’s a gas HOH you’ll have to go through pretty much all the wiring if the pilot was kept on all these years combined with being in a damp environment

The ad states washer and dryer. I only see two dryers.

Thanks, John. Heard back from the seller and we are working out the details. That honey beige panel may find a dryer to live on!

I'll keep you posted -

Ben

Sorry to hear that, Ben, but at that price, probably wasn't scrap.
