Caloric stoves aren't just great, they're TV history

The stove of my dreams reappears in Coppertone; and it's not too far away from me!!! I've cooked on three iterations of this stove, two with the side-broiler/rotisserie, two with the griddle/5th burner and one with the "Pastry-oven" in place of the Waist-high broiler (yeah, do the math). They were all great performers.

Here's the rub: I sent the seller a message to find out whether the stove has been hooked up to Natural or LP. When I bought another one of these several years ago, I found out that my LP gas supplier would not help me convert the appliance to use LP gas! Hard to believe that they would balk at creating another reason for me to buy their propane, but apparently there's a very much enforced code here in Connecticrunt forbidding LP conversion of older appliances without electric ignition.

My cousin who lives nearby said that he could be persuaded to do the conversion but then I start to worry if any of the necessary parts are available. If the seller says it's LP-ready then I'll go for it, but most of NJ has municipal gas.

BTW, did any of you happen to watch the Dick Van Dyke/CBS tribute to Carl Reiner this Friday?? They re-aired the Alan Brady's Bald episode and one about Laura painted in the nude. What was interesting was that DvD announced that these two episodes were in color and there was a whole CBS promo like in the old first days of color TV. I have to bet that these episodes were "Colorized" but there was one scene in the Petri kitchen with a clear shot of the Caloric Ultramatic Built-in Wall Oven in the background. It was gloriously turquoise and when I froze the frame I could see that all the colors on the panel were spot-on correct. The kitchen was completely turquoise (kind of ugly, actually) which, to me, was the giveaway but, unless I'm wrong, whoever colorized those frames did their homework.

I love the seller's description of the Burner with a Brain, Pressure-activated Simmer setting. They must be very young with no cooking experience. Obviously they will remodel and need 24,000 BTU burners on their new stove.

You're so right Tom.

$200,000 kitchen just only to use the MicroWave to reheat Take Out, Dishwasher will be run full of glasses and Starbucks coffee mugs, And the only time that beautiful high end kitchen will be actually used is a catered party or Holidays.
