What is the deal with Kenmore today? How is Sears getting Whirlpool to put the Kenmore name on things? I can't see it lasting, the price of Kenmore models seems to be higher than those those of Whirlpool/Amana ect sold at HD.

I wonder if Whirlpool is in the process of dumping Sears since they are building fewer and fewer appliance for them.  Whirlpool/ Maytag, etc. haven't been sold at Sears in quite a while...Don't know why.

Whirlpool removed all their associated brand labels from Sears October 2017. But they were going to still supply product to Sears for the Kenmore labels. I was looking at their web site today and a couple of Whirlpool's new top load models have been added under the Kenmore brand June 22, 2020. Currently, they only have one LG under the Kenmore Elite dishwasher line. The rest are like mine, from the KitchenAid line that I got October 2015. Remains to be seen if they will get any of the new KitchenAid products. It looks like many, if not most of their Kenmore brand dishwashers are still sourced from Whirlpool. Some of their Fridges are still from WP also.

Will Kenmore laundry appliances be showing up at Lowes and the home depot, if they haven't already

I think you'll only see Kenmore at Lowe's if Lowe's buys the Kenmore brand like they did with Craftsman.  From what I've heard, Home Depot is kicking Lowe's ass, so they're probably more likely to go after the Kenmore badge than Lowe's at this point.

Seems like those places will sooner have their own private brands (do they already?) as Best Buy!s is Insignia...

I just think Kenmore is going to fade off into Appliance History as soon as there is to be no Sears to sell it...

That's malfortunate, if widespread.  I've been in both and Lowes had clearly better service.  First, there ARE employees and second, they know something.  Whereas Homeless Depoh, not so much either.

Of course that's just the stores I have access to.

There is only Lowes in my area-2 stores.Lowes has stagnated in my area-no competition. Both stores are pretty lame. They need another HD to compete with them. When there is competition-both do better. At one time in a town where I lived years ago had Lowes,Home Depot, and Hechingers. Was GREAT-they had price wars with each other on lumber and tools.

Just looked and Sears got 5 new dishwasher models in May from Whirlpool. I don't see any new dishwashers that seem to be LG products. And Sears is getting 3 of WP's new top load washers.
