In 1948 Bendix introduced the "Balanced Spin," but in 1949, they called those 2 models, the G310 without the detergent dispenser and the G315 with the dispenser, the Gyromatic. The model with the detergent hopper and the measurable dosing, today known as "auto dispense" was only on the books for one year, 71 years ago.

Tom, thanks. Now I know why I have only seen referenced the detergent hopper this one time.

You're Welcome, Bob.
It was an idea before its time, I guess.

Tom, very true. I think it was stupid of Bendix to get rid of the Magic Heater when they went to a slimmer design and Whirlpool did the same when they went to the slimmer width. That was also something ahead of its time. My well-known opinion about onboard heaters is quite adamant. You have to maintain warm and beyond wash temperatures for effective cleaning.

Any information about how the dispenser operated?

As I recall

it had a case for powder and in that case was a worm screw that was turned by a large gear , but I forget how they controlled the dosing ( how much the worm gear turned) my Bendix Doctrine is still packed away so I cant just look it up.
