Well, I was forced to take out the Thermador and put the not yet vintage PowerClean back in the kitchen...
I’m not blaming this one on the Thermador itself, as I really think this is just an age related failure, but what’s happening is the timer will hang up at one of I think two different points. One Is during the main wash, and the other is on the final drain purge in the dry. So I’ve bothered to figure it out, and it’s the timer. At least two teeth on the timer cam drum seem to be worn, and the ratchet arm that advances it just kinda hops over, making the click noise but not actually advancing the cycle. I also found it interesting that there’s a disk in there with every third notch deeper. Basically it only lets the timer advance every third click of the mechanism. I found this interesting, why not just gear it down so it moves 1/3 the speed? Anyway, what are my options, if any, for solving this problem?? |
