Anyone remember this 1965-ish GE Talisman portable dishwasher that I got back in 2013? Well I finally took it out of storage to play with it.  It works still and doesn't leak! Hallelujah!!

However, there is something that I don't quite get with the rinse agent dispenser...

I am used to ones that have a solenoid to control the release of the agent.

I can't figure out how this one is supposed to work.  Is there a tube missing from the bottom of the reservoir?  It is the type that you have to push to set; not a bad idea for a 'pots and pans' load!

It's a made in Canada model 15S61-0019; looks to be the equivalent of an Americana model.

(Apologies for the upside-down pictures...)

Actually have similar model (American made), and long since given up on rinse aid dispenser. It leaked from day one and never could figure out how to solve that mess.

Since machine cycles are rather quick just hang around until last rinse, pop open lid and add squirt of Jet Dry, close lid and let machine complete cycle.

Failing that there are always those hanging baskets of Jet Dry one leaves in machine.

If you cannot find Jet Dry baskets locally try Amazon, Walmart or any other online source.
