A couple of months ago i was bragging on AW that my Frigidaire Dishwasher was working perfectly after owning it for approximately 15 years. Well Karma is a "#&%@$" and of course I started having issues. Started to only be able to choose limited cycles and the Hi-Temp wash option would only be available on the Pots & Pans cycle when previously it was available on every cycle. And, after setting the P & P cycle, I have to open and shut the door before it will start. So. I called the repair man who says it is a bad Control Board which, as luck would have it, is no longer available.

So, my question/request for help is, Does anyone know if there is a way to find a Control Board? I have found the Control Panel but not the Control Board.

The Frigidaire Dishwasher is Model # FDB949GFS2 Serial # TH85040116.

Am attaching a picture a picture of the control panel while in operation and one when the cycle completes which is odd.

Any assistance is much appreciated.

Brainard

There are three boards.

Main control board 154320603 NLA.

Display board 154227901 NLA.

Keypad 154322801 available.

Maybe the keypad is flaky, not the main board?

Google search the main board number, a few sources claim to have it (may or may not be accurate, contact them to confirm).

There are also some used, new, open-box on eBay.

My sister had this model

and I read they were notorious for water getting into the keypad and causing all sorts of craziness.  I replaced the keypad once for reasons I can't remember, and it solved the issue.

Thank you

Thanks steved & DADoES. I will do both. I have seen some videos on youtube on how to change out the Keyboard. It really has been a good dishwasher until this issue came about 3 weeks ago. The Pots & Pans cycle works fine but I assume if i do not address the issue it will get worse.

15 YO FD DW

You have come close to setting a record for life out of one of these FD DWs,  unless you just want to throw money and your time into this one I would shop for a new DW.

These DWs also have a host of other problems waiting for you, The main wash pump motors are very short lived, and then you have the likely hood of broken heater mounting nuts which will cause leak underneath and shorted heater, bad drain pump, bad inlet valve, and just general things like rusted racks.

If this DW has had normal once a day use it is probably close to the end of its useful life, if it has had much lighter use you may be able to push it along for some years. It is a shame they used such short lived components because the performance was pretty good, the worst thing about these DWs was the messy filter in the bottom.

If the unit will run some of cycles and not others that sounds like the touch pad, not the control board.

Sounds like the repair "technician" gave you a response that is likely more convenient than accurate.
