Just picked up these garage door Lady's from Super32, they're in great shape. The washer needs a few things but nothing major. The only mechanical problem with the washer is it only spins on high speed, none of the others work. Here are some shots of them.

I just wish the washer had the large tub, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for one

Tub looks like it is the same size in my 1963 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII washer

True. One thing I will say is the ‘72 Kenmore has the Vari-Flex agitator which gives a wide array of agitation since the fins on the bottom are adjustable on the Vari-Flex agitator

The large capacity Lady Kenmore washers in the garage door version were only made for 1974 and 1975. In late 1975 the black control panel with the wood grain tops debuted for 1976 and remained through a few revisions until the Whirlpool/Kenmore belt drives gave way to direct drives in1986.

I have the ‘75 model with the pentaswirl but these large capacity machines definitely needed the dual action for large loads in these machines in my opinion. The pentaswirl is great for medium water level and below.

Last of the standard capacity LKMs, yes this has the same wash basket as every 29" BD WP built built from the 1947 Bolt Down KM & WP models with the exception of 24" wide models and the super capacity models built from 1967-1981.

Hi Melvin, yes it is true that the Pentaswirl was a good agitator but no match for the Dual-Action agitator that came out in 1976, you may remember that Sears suggested to people to upgrade their super capacity washers built from 1974-5 to the DAA to improve performance and capacity.

Yes there was quite a campaign for a long time. If I remember correctly after the debut of the dual action it was the direct replacement for the pentavane and pentaswirl and both of these agitators were discontinued as replacements early on.

Congratulations on scoring that beautiful LK set--especially since the mechanism for the Vari-Flex agitator works. The washer tub is certainly in great shape.

Now that's a set to show off proudly!
