Hello:
First off (and please don't take this as condescending) - as a retailer, I'm sure you're aware the asking price can vary depending upon what a local market will bear. In some instances on Craigslist, for example, I've seen these Model E machines in good to excellent condition advertised for up to $500. But as many of us members can attest, it's not uncommon to pick one up for about $100, as I did with mine. Your particular machine could stand a little "touch up" if you're willing, before you offer it up for sale. There appears to be a little rust under the edge of the tub. Also the rubber bulb to operate the wringer by foot action appears to be deteriorated (which was very common). The mechanism can be bypassed at the horizontal drive arm where it meets the vertical shaft to the wringer. Mine is bypassed with a couple of coins inside the plastic housing. Others use a bolt to plug the hole. If you are not keen on doing anything to it prior to selling, perhaps just mention this to prospective buyer so they can proceed with the bypass. Hope this is of some help! |

Do you know what year this is? Another alternative we have is to donate it to a Living History Museum in our area. |
