I Don't see why everyone hates LG these days. The spider may be still aluminium and prone to failure but the spider is available separate from the drum. EVERY SINGLE BRAND has it's fair share of PROBLEMS. Scamsung is the worst. Further My Aunt has a LG set. WM1832CW and DLE2532W with NO REPAIRS(1 Board replacement under warranty (doesn't count)) Serial Dates July of 2004. so 16 years old NO repairs is very nice. I changed my drum to the older Domed drum like my Aunt's washer so there is more room for water to splash around it and I put plastic plates under all the points where it would be touching stainless steel like the Maytag Neptunes. supremewhirlpool I don't know if you remember your "horsey" story but coating the spider is not a good idea. As soon as your coating is compromised YOUR DONE the spider now has trapped water and will corrode very fast. My Aunt's washer has not given me ANY problems but for me it was a challenge but it is finally over.

I've not a lot of experience with LG products, this new front loader being my first and I really like it so far. However I've only had it for a few months so reliability is unknown but it got a good CR rating for performance and reliability.
One quibble with your posting.. Whether under warranty or not a repair is a repair. She had one repair in 16 years under warranty. |

I was going to make the same comment. "Board replacement under warrant (doesn't count!)" ??? That's not how the customer sees it. The machine failed and needed servicing, that's a problem (or at best an inconvenience) regardless of who pays for it. Same with this: "The spider may be still aluminium and prone to failure but..." To the customer, it doesn't matter that the part can be replaced. A major component in the machine is prone to failure. They're going to have a failure, Google it, see that it's a major part, see that it's prone to failure, and say "Nope, I'm not going to invest in a repair if it's just going to fail again". Boom, there went your reputation. |
