Hello all my good friends, as you know I posted last summer I found a 1974-1975 Norge washer at an estate sale. Thanks to Rick R. And fellow members I did get it up and washing ... however it started to struggle with a slow agitate and pumping water out was hesitant 😕.. Rick felt the belt was slipping. So I live in Niagara Falls NY I called national appliance .. the clerk could not match the belt or pump what do you Members think it is ? Rick R. Thinks it needs a belt. Thank you all any input would be nice. I’m a natural direct drive shredmore lover but I do like my filter flos and other machines.

Poor Pumping Norge

It is not a bad belt, It could be loose if the tension spring is missing [ looks like a large 4" bobby pin and goes between the base plate and the side of the motor.

Could also be a partly blocked pump or a bad pump bearing.

I've been scarred for life by Norge-sourced washers, but I check rated the OP based on the last two pix.  That's a subject I could discuss . . . at length.

Dan, I'm sure that machine left marks on my eardrums too!

BTW that poor, relentlessly punished tile that never signed up for what the possessed Snorge subjected it to is long gone.  That whole back end of the house got reworked by the new owners.  I don't know where the laundry area ended up, but it's not where it used to be.  The exorcism is complete.

My guess would be that your Norge washer belt is a standard 3L380 or a 4L380 belt which are standard belt numbers and available at Ace hardware. I'd take the belt to Ace Hardware and have them measure it and match it up.

The belt does not look bad, take it off and look at it,

There is a part number right on the belt if it is bad.

One thing I can say for Norge Washers is they were not hard on belts, in fact the belt almost always way outlasted the rest of the machine.

Paul, you should be

used to all the e'hem, "suggestive" Fruedien lingo from the gyms". It's just a thing, I was told early on, after a guy told me I was getting nice tiities. He said he wasn't making a play.

He was then, no longer

a major juicer. I helped him quit. He has (had) always a large st. Thomas cross back tatto, and star tatoo's on his triceps. Not a Navy guy, only 5'4".
