TI was alerted this morning by just looking at the Whirlpool web site. hey have the same spray arms as KitchenAid and Maytag. First plastic tub version of this new design. All the new models have a "K" in the model name somewhere after the model number. Only the top two models have the tiered 3rd rack and spray. They call it the 3rd rack with the extra wash action. Other models just have a flat 3rd rack. And appears no more in-the-door silverware basket. And all the documentation is the same poor pathetic version that exists with the KitchenAid and Maytag models. No real worthwhile information at all.

The TOL model is 41 db whereas KitchenAid's quietest model is 44 db.

I forgot to mention all the WP products have the filter you have to clean. Thus the lower dB rating.

new filtration

Will this new dishwasher have the new filtration design like the rest of their family? I've always wanted to know. What else is new? I wonder what the name of their new wash system will be.

filtration system

Will they keep their current triple filtration system, or will they transfer over to their microclean filtration system?

JennAir's are 38dB...don't know if they have the same innards though.  I think people tend to forget about JA.

Greg, the JA dishwashers are all largely Whirlpool/KitchenAid products jazzed up. At one time they went through a phase where all their models were sourced from Bosch/Thermadore. I had seen mentioned in an article much earlier this year that WP and JA would be bringing out their new models based upon this new platform and I also got the impression there may be more KA models released too. All the current JA models have the filter you have to clean.

I think you would be very excited about this new platform coming out. When they're available, I'd love for him to test its cleaning power so we could see what goes on inside. I just hope they have buttons you can feel. I like them organized in a certain way. I was just thinking of you when it comes to whirlpool dishwashers.

filtration system

I believe jennair still uses their triple filtration system. However, I couldn't find any info on whirlpool's latest filtration system coming out on their redesigned models. Will they keep their triple filtration on their newest models? Will they move to the ultra fine self cleaning filtration? I'd like to know what they do.
