Hello,
I am having a problem with a Kenmore model 110.7218622 electric clothes dryer. I installed a new heating element, thermostats and motor. All were put back exactly as they came off. The dryer will start and heat but as soon as I open the door it trips the breaker. It has now burnt the contacts inside the door switch from doing this. The electric panel and breakers have been replaced recently. I did not do any of the work on that end. Any ideas? Thanks, Greg

When you open the door

It could be causing a short or a ground fault

Does your dryer have a drum light ? If so it could be a short in the light circuit,  socket,  bulb etc.

Try disconnecting the light wire on the DS and see what happens.

It looks like I fixed it! Yes it does have a drum light and the problem was in that circuit. I disconnected it and I happened to have a spare door switch with two prongs. I installed it and the dryer works as it should now. Thanks for the help.
