Some of you may remember, I scored an A500 a few months ago. In the spirit of game theory, I'm considering the possibilities. It may sound silly, but I really like the light-up features of an A700. Along those lines, I was thinking of adding lighting to the tub, and possible lighting to the console. I'm also considering swapping out the M logo (front left side of the body) with a fabricated transparent duplicate that would light up during loads (similar to an AMP).
Has anyone done anything like this?
Is this blasphemy?
These mods would accompany a full disassembly and refurbishment.
I like the concept of Resto-Modding this machine.

No this isn’t blasphemy.

It actually sounds like an interesting idea. To be honest, Highlanders are often stripped of rare parts needed for higher end machines, so what you’re contemplating is far better. I wonder if an electroluminescent sheet could be used to light the control panel. Come to think of it glowire could be applied to the underside of the tub cover to light the tub as well. Regardless of how you choose to proceed I’ll be interested to see how it turns out.

I like the way you think.
Perhaps a relay switching a 12V power supply powering an EL-sheet and EL-wire... I'll look into this for sure. Thanks again.
