This was actually for sale nearby, so went and picked it up this weekend. No idea if it works, but it looked to be in decent shape in the pictures. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, as I hope to install something else in the kitchen, but I didn't want this one to go to the landfill. Cosmetically, the front panel has some rust so would need to be repainted, but the inside looks good. The racks look like there's some mildew on them, but I couldn't pull them out due to the dispenser being in the way. So, will have to remove it, or pull the drawer out more to do so.

Surprisingly, the gasket looks to be in decent shape and is fairly soft!

Our first . . .

. . . dishwasher was a portable model with the bowtie fan  blade in the bottom.  It was a great machine and would really move the water.  Everything got cleaned.

Good luck.

In '73, we moved into a 1960 house with this dishwasher, but in Pink. It worked well a few more years, probably to 77 or so, and my folks would have simply agreed with a repairman who said it's too old to fix. It was replaced with a low-end Hotpoint from a cheap condo builder my dad did accounting for, somehow I remember $140 in the mid-70's? The GE cooktop and wall oven were pink too. We also had a matched set Avocado 1-18's, MOL washer with MOL electric dryer, left in the house when we moved in 79. If only I had them all now! I still remember the washer had a SANITIZE cycle.

You know, Jeannine, I see Spintubes everywhere, thanks to you; and not knowing GE Codes or visuals, that's what I thought it was, at first. Great Karma, too. But good for you, a powerful machine made by the legendary 5-star General of Electric. And in turquoise, or as some like to call it, Aqua, the color of the tropical ocean. Congratulations.

Thanks for sharing in my excitement with this dishwasher. I'm just happy I got to save it from the landfill even if I end up not using it. The guy I bought it from works for someone who flips a lot of house, so I told him to keep me in mind for any other vintage appliances he may run across.

Also, got another vintage dishwasher yesterday, but will post about it later this weekend.
