Hi I hope I’m posting in the correct place, my great Nan sadly past away and she was a very keen cook, bless her... we have rooted through her stuff and she has some fantastic finds, this being this little beaut of a oven, a Moffat, I’m told by my grandfather he thinks it’s 1960s or 50s and wants to get rid of it, he’s got a removals team round and they keep eying it up and he’s said they can have it. I know they have a reason to keep looking at it and I’m looking online to find a place to sell or value it. Could someone assist me here, any help would be much appreciated

James

I didn't know ranges had ceramic top surface elements back then--Radiantubes were just becoming a novelty...

James, it's a mid to late 1970s model. White ceramic cooktops were introduced in Canada then.  It looks like the 'Epicure' model - the smaller upper oven should have a rotisserie in it.

Hi there, thanks for your help, yes it does have a rotisserie on the top, as you can see in the next photo I’ve posted the option is there. I’m not sure she ever used it though, it would be lovely to see it work, are these ovens of any value? Would you know where I would be able to host it or is it literally just eBay and places like that? I would love to see it go to a nice home in the UK

Kind regards

James

James, I'm not sure what you might be able to sell a range like this for in the UK.  Have a look at eBay sold listings for similar items and if you can access Marketplace on Facebook, search for similar items.   As far as value goes, the old adage "it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it" applies - depending on your area, vintage items may sell very well, in other areas not so much.  A serious collector would likely be interested in this; perhaps one of our UK members on this site!

What is the device to the right of the stove?  Is that a trash compactor maybe?

Lol no thats not a trash compactor, it’s a thermostat for the house. Good guess though, as for eBay yea I have posted on that. Don’t seem to have any interest just as of yet. Seems that lots of people have saved the listing though, anyhow thanks for your help and touch wood someone wants it before the house is sold in a few days
