As soon as I saw "Hudson" I thought Nash/Kelvinator, since Hudson and Nash eventually joined forces in the '50s, but this fridge appears to pre-date that.  Still, that bin down below says Kelvinator to me.

I like the design of this fridge, and considering it's so rare and in beautiful shape on the inside, that's not a bad price.

Perhaps it was sold by the JL Hudson Co. in Detroit. The item for sale is located in Michigan. It would have made sense for them to have Kelvinator build them, as they were also located in that city.

I was thinking the department store, too.

yep...probably a label saying that they're a product of AIMCEE Merchandising. Hudson's was an ENORMOUS deal here in Michigan--they sold everything at their DT Detroit location. I've seen a Hudson ironer in a basement sale in the not-too distant past.

Yes - this was sold through J.L. Hudson's in Detroit. They had Hudson branded refrigerators, ranges, and radio/TV/Hi-Fi units.

Funny, I just came across a Hudson gas range for sale yesterday.

Wonder if that came out of the Detroit Jewel plant--the proportions don't seem familiar from any of the more common brands.
