Hey all you wonderful guys, I’m a loooong time lurker and lover of this site, here’s my first time dipping my toe into posting! So.......especially to all you UK collectors, my main interest is vintage dishwashers, and of course in the UK they are pretty rare! For Christmas when I was 15 (I’m 45 now!) my older brother bought me a mid 70s Miele, our family’s first dishwasher. It was awesome! So........ I’d dearly love to own a Hoover AutoJet or SupaJet, I scour Evay but so far without success. Any advice from all you experienced guys would be much appreciated.

Welcome to Automatic Washer Paul, hope you like it here.
Is this the style of Autojet & Superjet you are interested in? Or a later model Do you recall the model number of your Miele dishwasher? I have examples of G500 & G550 which would be early I mid 1970s I think Al | ||

Hoover Crystaljet & Autojet
Morning Paul and a warm welcome to AW, am sure youll find lots about the Hoover Dishwashers here, I managed to pick up an Autojet years ago, its awaiting new seals after all these years but will be up and spinning around next year after lockdown...

Few more machines from the 80s The Servis and the Electrolux I believe were effectively the same machine, the Bendix has the soap dispenser in a different place, the the controls bear a resemblance to the other two. | ||

Swanmaid Dishwasher
Saw the mention of Swanmaid, I have this sales leaflet and manual for the Swanmaid Standard and De Luxe, got a load of technical literature for them and a service manual for a kenwood A1212. WIil scan it all properly another night and share. Chris

Also got this brochure with letters for Cygnet dealers back in the day. The letters say ''Manufacturers of Swanmaid Dishwashers' so it would apppear they're related... Hope you can read it. Chris

Fab literature Chris, the tech info will be very useful for Richard and Steve as currently are servicing similar dishwashers ,
They look much more commercial than what we see of dishwashers today, and prob weigh a ton to move arond rather than today's dishwashers . One of the earlier Swanmaids actually had a commercial copper kettle with a sealed lid for its water heating,.. | ||

First of the scans. And now I remember why I havent scanned anything in years! This is an a4 double sided sheet dated Oct 1971 with information on a new model - the Swanmaid Select.

Kenwood Dishwasher, 1978
Although I am not British, I have some ads and brochures for UK’s dishwashers and I gladly make a contribution to this interesting thread. I got this one on eBay 4 years ago, the eBayer who sold it claimed it is from 1978.
I’m not a fan of this dishwasher particular loading pattern - it looks pretty inconvenient to me, but I wonder what kind of performance this Kenwood machine provided. | ||

Swanmaid User Manual
Gone back to taking photographs. This scanner is awful and I don’t know why the quality is so poor on here. Used to be better I’m sure. Hope it’s readable. If all else fails I can email the photos and see if that’s any better. Try this...

Although there was the later tie up with Kenwood I am think that Dishmaster was a separate company to begin with as I have an instruction book which makes no mention of Kenwood at all.

Electrolux Dishwasher
It was about 18 months after that posting that I had the pleasure of meeting Richard face to face. He brought down his Electrolux dishwasher (now working) so that Mike and I could see it in action.

As they were pretty grimey
I used the hottest wash - Intensive 70
I will just comment that this style of Miele - late 70s/early 80s is my favourite of all machines. I also have a dryer of similar vintage that I use all the time.
