I’ve had a Whirlpool Duet HT for quite some time now. It always has whined during the spin. Doesn’t grumble like bad bearings. Are they all like this? Maybe the motor bearing needs some grease?

My 2011 model kind of whines during spin, but it's not a bearing problem.

Whining FL Washers

This can come from the main seal, if you tear apart the whole machine and regrets the seal it may go away, but it is so difficult to tear apart the whole washer to do this it is not worth it, sometimes the sound goes away if you use more detergent as it can lubricate the seal.

It’s a wonderful upgrade from the new belt drive whirlpool I’d used before. More cycle options. Quieter, easier on clothes, yet a better clean. The clothes take half the time to dry and the lint trap is so much cleaner! I’ll never go back to a top loader for my everyday laundry.

Samuel, you just stated why I will only have a front loader. Thank you for reinforcing my observations and experience. Unless you got the WFW560, there's also the onboard heater and hotter/warmer water temps clothes are being washed in.
