Hey everyone, hope all is going well with you guys (general statement to all). So we had a mishap with my mint condition 1-18. The lint filter decided to come off during a spin cycle and caused a bit of damage to things and they need to be replaced. My better half is more upset about this than I thought I would be. He was using it when this happened and he knows what this machine means to me and is the one that actually paid for it and the trip to get it HA. Bless his heart, even he said it is the best washing machine he has ever used and he DOES NOT care anything about appliances as long as they do what they are suppose to do. Anyways, I need an agitator, lint filter, and a bleach dispenser, and if possible the top plastic tub ring thing that snaps on top of the tub and the lint filter goes into. I am going to include pictures of these items minus the plastic tub cover thing, we forget to get that. On the bleach dispenser, I do not think that I need the entire part, rather the spring that goes underneath it, as that is what broke. I posted pictures of it when I got it home and from the person we bought it from to show how good of condition it was in. The control panel has some missing paint spots and seemed to get a little bit worse since I have started using it and I think it is from the other half wiping it down with the wrong rags. He was using a blue sponge with the ""scratch free" side to remove stuck on detergents and things of that nature. I forgave him as he was at least trying to keep my baby looking good and new. This machine has MANY MANY years of life left in it and runs like it is brand new and I am STUNNED at this. It does have some beauty flaws but I can live with this until I can afford and find someone to help fully restore the control panel and other little minor cosmetic flaws with it. I do have it hooked up in my home now and use it as a "daily" and would like to keep it that way or until we move and I can build a shed to add to my collection of vintage machines, OMG DREAM COME TRUE and them purchase a new Speed Queen, old school style with the transmission, to use when we move and buy our first house.
Sorry I went off on a long tangent, I have only been sleeping a few hours a night due to a 4th hip dislocation of my right hip and being in unbearable pain from it. If anyone has these items they can part with, please let me know or email me @ ericpippen1985@gmail.com so maybe we can make a deal or something. Also, if anyone has the fabric softener dispenser for a 1-18, it would be AMAZING as a downy ball does not work right with the spray rinses on the 'regular' setting on a 1-18, or at least it doesn't on mine. It seems as if it fills up with water once the spin forces it open like it is suppose to do and overflows it with water while it is still spinning and once it goes into a deep rinse there is no softener left to dispense in the water. Does anyone else have this issue if they use the Downy ball in theirs. I know I can use the Knits or Permeant Press cycles but the final spin is low speed and I do not like that as it increases drying time drastically in my dryer, I have a gas dryer from Samsung. It's a BOL gas dryer because our house is too old to support all electric appliances and was not built for them. Any information or insight to where or how I can get these replacements parts will be welcome. Thanks for taking the time to read all of that and I wish all the best to everyone and hope we are all staying safe and sane during these odd times! God Speed!!!
