Washer, under the hood. Just picked these up about 2 hrs ago, haven't plugged them in.The spots in the tub are leaves, little if any rust. This set would look fantastic in any collection,go with any decor.Kenmores aren't my thing, just happened across this set.Anyone interested,Email me for details,or leave a note here. kennyGF |

I just love the big ass chrome dials and dash, they make no apoligies and take no prisioners-they say "Hey, I am a freeking powerful washer, wanna go a few cycles wit me?" Back when American design was original, and not copycat. Good luck and let them shine! |

Where were they that they have leaves in them? Extra points for scoring a matched set. |

They were sitting outside. We went to a wine tasting in the next town. On the way there,my wife saw a stove sitting by a house, down off the highway. On the way back, went looking for the stove. Never found it,but came across these. House was under construction, stopped in and asked about them. Worked a deal with the owner, and here they are. |

There are a few reasons I think these are from 1964 ( possibly late 1963). 1. My mom and dad bought this washer and dryer in white when they moved into their first house in October of 1963 and my moms had a pregnant smooth roto swirl agitator, not a ribbed one like the one in the picture. 2. In my 1963 Sears catalog they show this set only being available in white (FYI this model was the third step down from the LK's in the 1963 line up, The second step down was the one dial washer and matching soft heat dryer). 3. I have seen an 1964 ad for this washer stating it is was now available in that color. The machine in the ad was coppertone to boot. I know that they made this set until at least early 1965 as I have sen it in a Sears catalog dating from the Winter of 1965. If I had the money and the space I sure would take these....they are my dream machines. PAT COFFEY

Did they agitate/fill in the cool down cycle???? hmmmm????? My grandma had a ?00 machine with that control panel only hers had 3 water levels instead of variable. And I don't think it filled and agitated at the same time in WnW |

This set was cool, I remember that one family member had 1963 LK set, which side glass panel lite up L A D Y K E N M O R E other, had this 70 Series had lights behind the dials which LK did not. Loved those little lighted ovals! However not all production of 70 Series had them for 1963, or could have been later model years, I don't know. |

These early Kenmores have some of the nicest and most solid feeling controls & panels I have seen. Is that dryer gas? If so, it is truly high speed and a pretty amazing dryer. (I have the 600 version.) |
