We recently moved to a condominium. I sold my F&P Washsmart with our house. I was very happy with that machine and it was trouble free. My condo came with a Whirlpool WTW5550SQ that was built in 2006. It is only O.K. I think it is a bit rough on clothes and noisy. It seems to clean well and I like the water levels. In the past 20 years, due to several moves, I have used and enjoyed both top load and front load washers including Maytag top load, Bosch, Frigidaire, Asko, and LG, all front load, F&P top load, and now this Whirlpool. So, I am familiar with both styles and comfortable with both. I have room for either in my laundry room.
What to get. We have very hard cold water - at least 20 grains. The hot water is softened. And, at 73, we are more concerned about hassle than style. We would hope to avoid a lemon. Budget is not a big issue.
I would appreciate any thoughts. Thank you.
