A big thank you goes out to Ben who just lent me some totally cool Whirlpool Ephemera to add to the Ephemera library. A shout out also goes to Sarah who also contributed the GE Wall Mount Refrigerator owners manual which I also just added to the library...

The dishwasher book had a date of 1970 written on it but I'm not exactly sure of the year. The machines look more mid-70s to me but for now I'll put 1970 in the listing. If anyone knows a bit more about when Whirlpool introduced these machines please let me know.

I believe those RCA Whirlpool advertisements are from late 1965 or early 1966 since it shows pictures of the redesigned Whirlpool 29” dryers from 1966 to the present.

Thanks for sharing these with everyone, Robert. The '67 (LRA series) washer brochure looks amazing compared to what the paper copy looks like in person.

Looks like the dishwashers are V models - so 1970 it is!

Product literature the way it ought to be

One of many things I liked about the RCA washers and dryers book was the first good and plausible explanation of the neutral drain. Never realized that Whirlies and Kennies didn't have counterweights in those 29" cabinets.

See-thru lids??

I remember seeing a Jerry Lewis movie on TV years ago where he was in an appliance store and there were many Whirlpool washers and some of them had windows in the lids; when were these available? Or were they just customized for the movie?

The J.L. movie you saw was "Who's Minding the Store" from 1963. I remember seeing it at the theater with my friend Fred.

'69 Mark XII Woody

There are two solenoids, one infinite and one for hand wash level. I've used that more than I thought I would.

The wood panel Mark XII’s from the late 60’s are the Ford Country Squire of washers and definitely reminds me of a 1968 Ford Country Squire from that year :)

1968 Country Squire;

Yes, and many home appliances had vynil woodgrain. The houses in that pic look like the circa 1944 G.I. houses where I grew up too. Our block had two Country Sedans, Two Squires, Three Olds 98's, A few Chevy Impalas, a Caprice, A Dodge Coronet, Two Torinos, A '72 T-Bird, two 73 LTD broughams, A Vista Cruiser, A Charger, a Bonneville, A Catalina, a couple Chevy and a GMC truck. A Ford Custom 500, Mercury Monterey, two Marquis, Two Chevelle's, A Plymouth Fury I, Two Nova's, A Fairlane, one Cadillac, one Camaro, one Ford van, One Dodge, One Chevy, one full size 79 Chevy Blazer, one Pontiac LeMans,
