I bought a Frigidaire dishwasher at the end of July because of the local store in my small town. Long story short biggest piece of crap I have ever wasted money on.
5 service calls and two in one day. Has not worked more than it has.
At best it does a crappy job. It ain't no Kenmore Ultra Wash.
Question.
There is always food stuck in the glass trap.If I removed the glass trap would it be too much for the dishwasher to handle as far as food scraps?
What kind of disposer would this have?

I couldn't agree with you more about how crappy Frigidaire dishwashers are. My previous dishwasher was a Frigidaire that had one of those glass traps. I removed mine because it also accumulated gunk and removing it didn't cause any issues.

I was able to get mine to clean pretty well. You might just need to experiment with different detergents until you find one that works.

I've had nothing but good luck with my FD dishwashers. I'm running a bob load as we speak and I'm sure it will come out great.

I've had two Frigidaire dishwashers and the main wash pump died after 5 years in both.

In fact, I would suggest

any Whirlpool product over this. Lesson learned!

I use one every 2 weeks at one of the houses I clean (LARGE family) and I haven't had any issues with it. I have honestly been pretty impressed with it's cleaning ability- I normally stuff it with unrinsed dishes (large chunks removed) which have usually sat from the night before, run the heavy wash with high temp and heat dry and a cascade pod, and everything usually comes out perfect. Takes at least a couple hours but it isn't horribly noisy. I did have an older model for a minute that left a lot to be desired..
You have to remember, Frigidaire uses a (rather basic) filter system rather than a grinder/disposal, so dishes need to be scraped or it will just re wash the food that is caught in the glass trap, slowly dissolving it throughout the cycle, and slowly redepositing it on the dishes. If the food debris is small enough to pass through the glass trap, it will be caught in the filter and flushed down the drain, usually in a prewash, thus leaving the next water fill cleaner. I have no issues getting sparkling glassware with no leftover bits.
