Would anyone happen to have a pastel Yellow (NOT Harvest Gold) GE cooktop in good condition? I bought a complete ‘66/‘67ish yellow GE kitchen for our new kitchen when we moved cross country, but the movers put a large scratch through the paint on the cook top. Thanks for any help.

You can get the ceramic cooktop re-porcelained to the exact original color for abut 200 and it will look like new.

to clarify...

porcelain is not paint but a ceramic coating and it can be re-done.

Thanks for the information. Do you know a place I could have it done for that price? I’m guessing I’ll have to ship it considering I live in Idaho.

I might have one, do you need one without the controls on it or one that has the controls on it, Post a picture of your damaged one and I will see if we have a better one.

John L,
Either control is fine; the one I currently have has the controls on the cooktop. Our builder has the cooktop right now so I won’t be able to get to it for a couple of days to take any pictures. The unit was in really good condition before the movers got hold of it, it was really clean and the yellow had very little scuffing if that helps.

Thanks sfh074,
I appreciate the information. If the other cooktop doesn’t work out, I’ll be contacting them.

Thanks everyone for your help. Since the house will be new my husband wants to go with the re-enameling so it looks like a new appliance. They only quoted me $145 plus shipping.

of this thread shows one of the two experiences I have had in the past with IPE. The owner, Jeff at IPE was great. Before and after pics of work they did.
