The LG annoyed me to death. Long wassh cycles, clothes wear, buggy programming.

Not recomended.

I got a Samsung QuickDrive - which I will be selling in mid-term again, but that depends on when I got rid of the LG.

Only payed half the store price from Amazon WareHouse Deals.

Quick review: Perfectly passable, wouldn't buy for full price.
For cheap, yeah sure, why not.

It still is a Samsung.

The wash performance is across the board pretty good, really. Even in the rather short cycles.

And for one or 2 people, this washer will be quick most of the time.

Rinsing is surprisingly good - though due to some shotty programming softner isn't utilized all that well.

Even larger items on Cottons work pretty good, which was a worry at first.

But now the downsides.

Once you get beyond a certain load size, the washer is no quicker than a normal Samsung.

Especially on Cottons 40 that is annoying since the normal cottons version is for what ever reason 3h.
2h are a temphold main wash.

Which is totaly overkill.

The washer spins for the most part.

But is rather instable over all.

The Super Speed cycle only goes to 40C - but allows up to 5 rinses, a soak, a prewash and intensive.

So why they don't let you set 60C (or even better 90C) and just extend the cycle accordingly is beyond me.

It claims it is A class spin despite being 1400rpm - don't fall for that.

The Eco cycle spins for 30min.
(Though to be fair the machine allows you to just run certian aspects of a wash cycle - like wash, rinse or spin - on their own, which I love. Makes it so much more versatile - boil cottons wash, quick or deep rinses, and a long eco spin.)

So yeah, I'll keep that until I sold my other stuff and get it's one true final replacement that'll stay.

Quickdrive... nonsens?

Hi,

Few years back when samsung launched this series, a dutch consumer association wrote a sceptical article about the quickdrive idea. They tested a quickdrive washer against a similar non quickdrive samsung and arrived at the same conclusion you have. It's not really faster nor it washes cleaner compared to the non-quickdrive machine.

Is that pulsatorstuff really just a marketing gimmick? Does is really do something according to your experience?

If Dutch is your thing... I included the link to the article here.

So Henrik, curious question is when you eventually replace this, what do you have your eye on for the next washer?

It's a surprise

It'll be matching my current dryer (I switched out the LG) so there is a hint in the picture...

If you're referring only to what's in this thread, then I say Miele.

Yeah, I got a good deal on the Miele and gonna get a 1600rpm ModernLife model as a matching set.

Most of stuff I used over the past year just didn't cut it.

Either programming or efficiency wise.

Miele is the best choice I believe :) I bought my W1 power wash 2 over a year ago now and have to say now I am used to how the different cycles work and what you can modify it really is a great machine it has never refused to spin and does everything flawlessly I am pleased I spent the extra £ and had a free 5 year warranty.

LG Washing Machine

Your previous LG washing machine must have had a fault on it as my 2019 LG has non of the issues you have reported. Apart from the long programme when fully loaded, it gives excellent results, washes and spins perfectly and has yet to let me down on a spin - it always manages to spin the load at full speed. Uses plenty of water for washing and rinsing and is stable. The final spin speed is 1400RPM for 7 minutes at top speed, unlike a lot of others I've had previously that only do 3 minutes at top speed.

The only issues I can report is that the suspension becomes a bit noisy after several years. Some examples are on YouTube. I still feel strongly your LG was a faulty machine.

I myself prefer LG over the Miele I had for a week. The Miele really disappointed me with not being intelligent enough to automatically add more water and another rinse like my LG does when I fully loaded it. I got Currys to pick it up as I didn't think it was worth £840. The detergent dispenser on the Miele also felt cheap when I pulled it open.

The Samsung Quickdrive is nothing more than just a gimmick, how on earth can it clean clothes better when the items cannot even touch the back plate, its nothing like the Dyson Contrarotator was.
