Gents--our condo in Palm Springs came with a 2008 full-size Frigidaire stacked w/d. It sits in a closet on the outdoor balcony, so is subject to the 120 degree summer heat/45 degree winter cool and is used pretty rarely. Condo was rented Jan-March and for about 6 weeks in mid-July, and didn't hear a complaint. First load of our trip (heavy towels/sheets) and noticed a whine on getting up to speed on both spins. It lasted for about 30 seconds and ultimately dissipated. Any suggestions? We're here for several weeks (and God willing, in January for the season) so have some time to fiddle (fortunately space isn't too much of a problem in the closet so have options). (BTW, when we were condo shopping 18 mos ago saw one with an original SkinniMini).

belt tensioner needing some lube?

your going to have to open the front, and watch for when this noise happens, and try to pinpoint what is causing it...

could be a number of things...

keep us posted

We're back out, and I'm noticing the same squeal...going to have to take off the front. Will be interesting to see the quantity of scale/encrustation as the water here is hard as can be.
