Blue Dryer Drum Staining

combo52's profile picture

Hi Austin, Yes usually insufficient washing the excess dye out of new blue jeans, and I have also found if the dryer is operated with a clogged vent the color transfer happens a lot more because the dryer gets extra hot and steamy.

This is normal for those who dry jeans on the high heat settings.

To avoid or reduce the darkening of the bulkhead of the dryer is to dry jeans on low.

The tinting will be noticeable but very faint compare to the high heating drying cycle.

Also by doing this, will extend the life of the fabric while reducing shrinkage at the same time.

future loads of jeans washed in warm/hot will return the dryers drum back to white....

same goes for washers, future loads washed in warm/hot will eliminate any mold/mildew issues.....

works every time....

I will have you know, my 26-year-old Dependable Care Cousin is still pristine white color inside.
