Caloric ME Range

That's a very good range. It was one of the first combination microwave & electric ranges manufactured. Caloric made them in electric & gas. The gas one cooked very well; I tested one of these in college and it literally cooked a 10 lb whole chicken in about 22 minutes. The microwave energry distribution was excellent!

John L. has an electric one (& I'm pretty sure a gas one). It's in the loft kitchen at his warehouse. Hope someone saves this.

A former coworker who got transferred to Austin during the big move around, his family rented a house that had that exact range in it. Didn't Caloric/brand name cousin make this ranges also for Sears? A friend of mine who was a couple of years behind me in college, his condo he bought in Dallas had the Kenmore brand. He's also the same friend that had a set of "Toyota" Kenmore laundry pair that came with the condo.

These are very good ranges and this one looks to be in great shape I am 1/2 tempted to drive up and get it.

Hi Alan, yes we have both the gas and electric models of this range hooked up in the museum kitchen, the gas one is really unique but overall the electric range is better for most users and cooks just as fast and well as the gas one.

Hi Bob, Caloric built these for Wards but the Micro-Electric ranges for Kenmore were Roper built, we also have the Kenmore at the Museum kitchen.

John L.
