The racks on my 2013 KitchenAid dishwasher were nasty with rust so it was time to upgrade. I wanted KitchenAid to match my other kitchen appliances but I couldn’t get the dishwasher until February. I tell you I’m very happy with this machine. It runs very quietly and holds a ton of dishes. But most importantly it cleans very well! This is my 3rd load

Hmmm, that's unfortunate on the rack deterioration, in only 7 years.  My racks are 17-1/2 years and all good.

Nylon vs PVC

I always make sure any dishwasher I buy has nylon coated racks. They will definitely outlast the PVC racks, as PVC is much softer.
