Ran across the whirlpool CAE2795FQ. Link is to Kirk’s test wash on heavy duty. He’s got a lot posted. Looks similar to the Maytag commercial with a straight vane agitator.Maybe it’s me but it looks more aggressive than the MT. I’m impressed with the wash action, a bit leery of how it will hold up, but looks promising. Wish you could select water level on all cycles.

I’ll figure this Internet thing out soon enough. This link works:

CAE2795FQ has been available...

It looks like it is sold as a coin operated and non-con operated model. You can search this model on Google and find many places that sell it including Home Depot.

I have the Maytag mvwp575gw. The differences I see is that the CAE2795FQ seems to have a Normal Eco cycle that is about three minutes longer, different wash action (has straight vane instead of dual action agitator), and a half tub fill for rinse instead of spray rinse. I haven’t really looked at the deep water cycles yet. Someone else says it has the more durable finish for the top and lid.

It lacks the options for a presoak, extra rinse, or both. The Maytag mvwp575gw model includes a five year parts and labor warranty.

The vertical modular design (vmw) isn’t as durable, but it does seem like this design shares many parts with other models. This may make parts easier to find and bring down the cost, but you will probably have more minor repairs. For what it’s worth, I have had my MT version for about 2.5 years with no issues yet. Just wash like items with like items to avoid balancing issues. I think my washer has one of the best wash actions available, but this wash action is impressive as well. I do like the clean, white design of the Whirlpool better.

I am guessing this model is very similar to the MT in that I can remove just two screws to have access to the control panel. The front panel easily removes as well. Other parts can be accessed by placing the washer on its back or side. This washer is designed to be easy to repair, if needed.

My MT has tap hot for all the deep water cycles when hot is chosen. It fills by alternating hot and cold. The Normal Eco cycle is the only half tub fill. Surprisingly it works well for quick washes and smaller loads. Cons of the eco cycle is the wash action is too rough for delicates, and it is the only cycle that adds cold when hot is chosen resulting in a warm wash at best. It has a spray rinse instead of a half tub fill, but I haven’t noticed any issues with this. It seems to work for the smaller loads.

If I couldn’t get the Maytag, I would definitely have this one on my list to look at.

I always wondered what the difference was between this and the Maytag Commercial. I wonder if the Whirlpool also tempers the hot water setting like the Maytag, I wouldn't like it if does as well. But this does overall kind of remind me of the mechanical Speed Queens that I used before based on the wash settings and the agitation. Honestly I think I would like the Whirlpool better since it's got less wash options and the agitator looks that it could be more reliable than the Maytag. I actually do like the white color of the control panel better on the Whirlpool as well as the color of inside the tub. And I like calling these washers and dryers Whirlpool better than calling them Maytag but that's just me. But it seems like the tub capacity looks smaller on the Whirlpool and I wouldn't be surprised if the Maytag actually performs better as well with it's double agitator. And of course the Maytag also has a longer warranty.
