There is currently not a lot of info out on the new LG Top Loader with Agitator model WT7305CV or the WT7305CW in regards to how TurboWash 3d functions.

Before I bought the unit, I was under the impression that the Turbo Wash 3D feature, has a feature that makes the wash water spin to the top of the unit and then be powerfully sprayed back over the load.

I believe LG describes this feature as "A powerful jet spray in the wash cycle".

On bestbuy.com, homedepot.com, & americanfreight.com; they all have the following statement in the "features" section..

------- Start Quote.

TurboWash3D™ Technology
A powerful jet spray in the wash cycle, plus the tub and motor that rotate independently and in opposite directions, creates a powerful water flow that combines with the 4-way agitator for enhanced washing performance.

------- End Quote.

I have observed the Turbo Wash Cycle several times, but I've haven't seen "a powerful jet spray in the wash cycle".

I have seen the SmartRinse™ jet spray system that forces water to penetrate through and into the close as the tub spins for quick and thorough rinsing.

But I don't believe the SmartRinse feature is the same feature that is talked about when they mention the "powerful jet spray in the wash cycle".

Here is video of the WT7305CV with the Cycle Selector Knob turned to "Normal" and Turbo Wash enabled. The wash cycle starts at 01:48. At 12:28 & at 16:47 you can see that the load will start spinning in the middle of the wash cycle, but no "powerful jet spay" starts.

You can see an example of the SmartRinse function working at 24:53, 25:35, and at 26:12.

So doesn't some sort of powerful spray similar to SmartRinse suppose to take place during the wash cycle?

TurboWash is spinning of the load with water in the tub, such as at 16:50 to 17:30.  Enough / more water in the tub will (should) swirl it up and over the rim of the drum, thus a "powerful jet spray in the wash cycle."  Perhaps a larger load that calls for more water will make the effect more apparent.

Well from the way it is written "a powerful jet spray in the wash cycle...."   I don't see a powerful jet spray either.  Had I bought this machine and noticed no spray during the wash I'd be questioning whether I'd bought a malfunctioning machine.  It shouldn't matter how much it's loaded with laundry/water.

Edit;  Could it be only on some cycles?  As in their front loaders they have numerous tumbling variants so I thought perhaps maybe the spray is only for some of them.

Isn't there a technical document in the console of the machine that might explain the operation?

In regards to Reply# 1. "Perhaps a larger load that calls for more water will make the effect more apparent."

That may be the case. If I want to use the Normal cycle, I will have to try to accumulate a bigger load size so that the auto sensors will add more water. When using the Normal cycle if I enable the Deep Fill option the mode will switch from Normal to Deep Wash. When Deep Wash is selected TurboWash can not be enabled.

My other option is to use the Heavy Duty cycle instead of Normal. When Heavy Duty is selected I can use select the Deep Fill options as well as choose to use Turbowash or not.

The machine's capacity to so large, It would take me quite awhile to collect enough same type of laundry to fill up the tub so that the Auto Sensor will autmatically put a lot of water in. So I will run a load & test the Heavy Duty cycle with the deep fill and turbowash options active.

In regards to Reply# 2. "questioning whether I'd bought a malfunctioning machine", "Could it be only on some cycles?".

I am also scratching my head and wondering about the TurboWash 3d features. I have also thought that maybe the descriptions about the features are wrong. Since this is a brand new product, perhaps the Turbowash 3d description was used from the impeller version, which may have the "Powerful Jet Spay in the Wash Cycle" and this new agitator version of the washer does not have this "Powerful Jet Spay in the wash cycle" feature.

It looks like the actual name of the feature where the wash cycle spins, the water raises to the top, & then powerfully dispersed over the load is called "WaveForce". Here is an animated video showing how this works on the impeller version of the LG toploader at 00:35.

The TurboWash option can only be enabled on certain cycles. The default Normal cycle has Turbowash enabled, which is the mode I had selected when I was observing the unit.

In regards to Reply# 3. "Isn't there a technical document in the console of the machine?"

Unfortunately nothing provided with the machine goes into detail about exactly what TurboWash 3d is, or exactly how it functions. I have had to learn about it via the LG press releases about Turbo Wash and looking at the videos LG has posted about turbo wash.

Ahh, I'm probably crossing-up WaveForce with TurboWash ... WaveForce being the process that showers water up over the rim of the drum.  TurboWash may just be spinning the load in the wash water without a direct shower-over effect.

Marketing terminology could misdescribe a feature or wash process, whether deliberately or inadvertently.

In regards to Reply# 7. "I'm probably crossing-up WaveForce with TurboWash"

No you are not crossing it up. It is somewhat confusing. So what I have learned based on about 4 hours of research on this very subject of what is "TurboWash3D™, is that it is not a single feature. TurboWash3D™ is the collective group name of 3 features. The WaveForce feature + the TurboDrum™ feature + the SmartRinse™ jet spray feature = TurboWash 3D.

The new top load agitator model adds the 4-way Agitator and 6Motion™ technology that aren't necessarily part of the TurboWash3D™ system, but combined equal enhanced washing performance.
