I have seen a few Vintage ones. I should have grabbed it while I had the chance. It was a Whirlpool. Your Choices are the Whirlpool 24" compact dryer, the GE Spacemaker 24" Compact Dryer or the Maytag E50 Halo of heat compact dryer.

My opinion, which is not worth much, would be to recommend the WP dryer just because they seemed to be more heavily built years ago and they were built on the the design of the full size WP dryers to the point that the 24" dryer could even accommodate a 240 volt heating element or a gas burner.

Over years have heard many a learned poster on this forum favor Whirlpool (also sold as as Kenmore) compact/portable dryers as best overall. This includes over makes such as Hoover, Maytag and perhaps GE.

Mine in Harvest Gold does a decent enough job for a dryer pulling less energy than my hair dryer (barely 1500 watts), so that's me for you.

I’d say a Whirlpool built 24” compact dryer since they are easy to service and repair. Same rollers, idler pulley, drive motor, thermostats as the full sized Whirlpool 29” dryers.
