Guys, I have an intriguing question (at least for me that put my hands on a 1-18 for the first time in my life less than a week ago.

I noticed the "Sanitary +" indicator on the rinse portion (normal cycle).

What was that supposed to be exactly? I didn't notice any difference...

A setting allowing the machine to be cleaned following a load containing a household member with serious illness. Was simply running a rinse with chlorine bleach.

If someone has more or a contrary thought, please contribute.

It's similar bullshit to the Filter-Flo "SOAK" setting that was just an arrow superimposed on the rinse portion of the NORMAL cycle.

The instructions said to use a cup of chlorine bleach and the minimum water level setting for that rinse and let the machine complete the cycle to disinfect the tub. It did circulate the chlorine solution through the filtration system and, on normal agitation, splashed water all over the tub.

I think it was a great idea and effective on the 1-18.  I used the feature once years ago after I'd had the stomach flu.

About the same function as early 70s Lady Kenmore's Sani-Rinse cycle, used concurrently with Pre-Wash.
