Maytag 806 pair, gas dryer. Both were working fine when I purchased them but I have not connected since. Best offer.

Guess I've been gone too long; I remember many members wanting 806 machines; not so much anymore? 3 sets posted - 0 interest?

Everyone want's them, until a set actually comes up. Then it's "oh, it's too far" or

"if I only had room" or similar.

Those factors aren't unreasonable.

Driving to KC from here is approx 1,700 miles round trip.

Small homes, one-car garage, apartments ... everyone doesn't have available space.

Shipping cost typically is prohibitive, if anyone/service can even be found to take the job.

Looking for 806’s

I’m looking for a pair of 806 like this. Anyone have a pair near NJ?

Looks like a Maytag Gas HOH dryer. It may work but will more than likely need new felt seals, and will more than likely need to be converted to electronic ignition if someone wants to use it on a daily basis.

I agree, Glenn. But sometimes you see someone an hour or 2 away from something vintage say "if it were only closer". We've all been there, you want something bad enough, you will find a way to make it happen.

John - I am interested in your 1959 Maytag pair if they are still available. I will drive down to KC from Des Moines to get them. I sent an email to you on 1/2/21 but haven't heard back. Thanks - Jeff

Uship or maybe getting a quote from Fastenal on how much to ship these would be the cheapest options

>> Those factors aren't unreasonable.

We're deep in a pandemic right now too, and states are overwhelmed with the new (more contagious) strain.
I'm personally one of the people with a constant eye out for an 806 pair (or A806, DE806, or DE808 individually,
or even parts to convert/upgrade lesser models)... but sadly a multi-state road trip just isn't feasible right now.

Still Available

This Harvest pair and the Almond 806's are still available. The White pair sold and was recently picked up by a shipper. I've went thru COVID since posting in January and haven't really done much.

If anyone's interested in the Harvest or Almond 806s, let me know.

John

Still available. Been a challenging time; covid, then cardiac event and too many other things - clearing the herd has not been my high priority. If there's any interest, maybe a better time to travel, or whatever. This pair is still available. The 1959 pair sold quickly; both white and almond sets sold; only this Harvest set of Maytags remain.
Purchased a few years ago from basement of retired couple's home in Kansas City, KS. I've never used them; have no further history, sorry. Open to offers - want to clear my garage out ASAP.
If no further interest within the next month, will move on to another approach. Thanks for looking.
