"Four Star" label ... that's an early LK designation?  It has enough sub-switches for the flexibility.

I believe this has the same features as the 1957 Lady Kenmore washers except for the styling. The 1958 Lady Kenmore washers had the timeline indicator like the 1958 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII washers but I don’t exactly know how many 1958 Lady Kenmore washers or sets are known to exist but very few from what I imagine since I haven’t seen any in the archives.

The 4 star machine lacked the self-cleaning lint filter that the LK had. When our tape kit fell apart, that whole panel was replaced with this one from the 4 star cycla-fabric model. I would hate to think of the cost of the procedure if we did not have a service contract on the machine; the man was there for several hours. I remember the care with which he unwrapped and unpacked the various parts as he used them to reassemble our new control panel.  We also lost the dial with the cameo in the middle because we had to have a dial with a pointer. This dial was also used on the combos of the times.

In addition to what Tom said the LKM would have had an all porcelain cabinet, and a Fabric Softener dispenser.

This machine does have the optional Suds-Saver

So, John, like the LK model, this one allows the user to select whether the wash water is saved or drained? I wonder if it has the tub light and germicidal lamp. The other night I opened the Hamilton and the fragrance of the ozone that rose on the heated air currents reminded me of the ozone from the 1958 Lady Kenmore.

Consumer Reports said that the mesh lint filter in this machine required maintenance to avoid "flooding." A neighbor had a manual clean lint filter in their Kenmore and unlike our Lady of Perpetually Clean Textiles, which stopped discharging water as soon as it went into drain to backflush the filter, the manual filter kept discharging water until the water level in the tub dropped below the intake.
