We’re getting ready to install our 1964 GE dishwasher soon. The majority of the yellow fiberglass insulation that was wrapped over top and sides of the tub was missing. We cleaned off the rest, but now I want to replace it with something that will also deaden sound; any recommendations?

Roxul

I’d go with roxul and maybe put it in plastic like you see on modern dishwashers . Another tip is if your dishwasher is on an inside wall to put insulation in the wall cavity behind the drywall so you won’t hear it in the next room over . I had to do this when I used to have a kitchenaid that was loud as a jet engine but cleaned like noones business .

Thanks so much. There are so many types of insulation these days that it’s hard to know what is the best one to use.

I use this for almost everything

This is ceramic insulation, I use it for stoves and refrigerators. Probably would be fine for dishwasher

Thanks to all for the info. I’m going to give the water heater wrap a try first as it has the foil paper already on it and very similar to the original that came off the dishwasher.
