Persil seems to be disappearing around here. They get about 2 feet if that of shelf space, and usually only one derivative, and that's it. Compared to the 20 feet the Tide family gets.. It's sort of disappointing. I emailed them quite awhile back but all they could basically say was speak to your store manager. But regardless of what actual location I go into they're all the same, even competing chains. I wouldn't be surprised if they've vamoosed from the Canadian market in the next year or two.

Well since everyone asked (NOT!), *LOL*
Persil is selling out fast, but Tide in particular the "Free and Gentle" liquid isn't. Was going to add a few more bottles of Tide F&G liquid to my stash since it is one of few decent unscented detergents. But decided to hold back as now have stash of powdered detergent on way, and have a few quibbles with Tide. While not scented per se, Tide "free" does have a masking scent that is noticeable and doesn't easily rinse from laundry. Subsequent laundering has wash water scented with whatever "not perfume" P&G uses as a masking scent for Tide F&G. All Free and Clear liquid doesn't do this for instance. Also am sort of miffed that while P&G did give Tide F&G a decent enzyme profile, you have to buy the version with a "touch of Downy" to get cellulase. All versions of Persil however do have cellulase, so there you are then. |

I bought Persil a few years ago, and truthfully wasn't too impressed. It was in a bottle, but wasn't liquid - but rather a beady type powder. I didn't think it got mud or ground-in dirt out as well as Tide or Sears Ultra Plus. |

Was not much different if not indeed same as Persil "mega perls" sold by Henkel in Europe and elsewhere. In any event Henkel USA discontinued the product about a year or so ago much to the dismay of many consumers.
Shame really as it was the only version of Persil USA offered in a powder format and had an activated oxygen bleach system. This is where P&G has Henkel beat; Tide still comes as "Tide with Bleach" in various forms with P&G's patented activated oxygen bleaching system. This or various powdered detergents such as Tide or Gain will at least have oxygen bleach (sodium percarbonate), with or without an activator. www.ewg.org/guides/cleane... This leaves Henkel/Persil ProClean without a single bleaching or in wash stain remover product for USA market. Again P&G has this down in spades, so there you are. |

I really like the fact that it no longer contains OBAs. There is a new Tide Hygienic Clean FREE that does not have OBAs either, but only has 3 enzymes. |

Who done told you Tide F&G liquid doesn't have florescent brightening agents? Cause it ain't true, not unless they've changed something recently.
www.pgproductsafety.com/p... Virtually every version of Tide powders, pods or liquids contain OBA. There might be the odd one off such as that PureClean, but otherwise... Cheer was once P&G's detergent for colors, and at least powdered versions for most part didn't contain OBAs, liquids OTOH did for whatever reason. |
