Ok I am going to go ahead and apologize because I do not have any pictures, but I will do my best to describe it in enough detail for the Maytag experts to be able to easily figure out the model number.

This washer looks like it is mid-late 80's and is a Fabric-Matic large capacity machine. It has the classic PowerFin agitator and thus a Pitman tranny, a white tub, and a bleach dispenser. It has 3 cycles: regular, perm press, and delicate, has 3 temperature selections, and an infinite water level selector.

I hope that is enough to figure out the model number. I do not have access to this machine so I cannot provide any pictures unfortunately.

If the one in the picture is a 512 then that's what it is because it looks just like that. What is the difference between a 212 and a 512?

A212 is small capacity standard tub size.

Agitator will have three holes on the barrel verses four on the A512.
