Hello, I have a KitchenAid KDC-15 Custom, made by Hobart I think around 1965 or 1966. Love it! But the circulation and drain pump motor recently stopped working.

I've spent all afternoon looking online for a replacement, and all I can find is a replacement part number on kitchenaidparts.com (4171907). But they list as no longer available. There was a former listing on ebay, but that likewise says zero available. Nothing on appliancepartspros.com or anywhere else I can think of...

It also needs a new inlet valve and fill line. Kitchenaidparts.com lists a replacement inlet valve as "on order." WP4171000. But there seems little point to ordering it, if I can't find the motor also.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Sandy

That's a beautiful and unusual machine, given the stainless steel treatment on what is a no-frills model, and it appears to be in excellent condition.

I suggest pulling up Hobart's web site and looking up the part number there.  They still stock certain parts for old KitchenAid dishwashers.  KitchenAid, which has been owned by Whirlpool for over 30 years now, is pretty much useless when it comes to parts for these machines.

Also check on-line ads like craigslist, facebook marketplace, etc. for another machine you can pull parts from.  It's not unusual to find them for free, or reasonably priced for the amount of spare parts they can provide.

Others here may have additional suggestions.

If you end up not being able to find an NOS motor, I have a few spares from donor machines that I’d be willing to let go of. Feel free to shoot me an email.

Hey thanks, everyone. Yeah, she's older than I am too!

Just tried Hobart's website, not immediately finding it there. I've emailed their customer care, fingers crossed.

Craigslist and Facebook marketplace, not finding anything close.

If I can't find it through Hobart or otherwise soon, I'll definitely email you, Ben.

Motor

from the picture you have taken of the motor the windings look good so you could get the motor rebuilder. More likely the bearings are gone but no way to really tell with out testing it. It is an option to think about. I have had a few motors rebuild. So long as there is no shorts in the windings you will be good.

Just a suggestion
