Saw this tonight during a prime time slot on an NBC affiliate. Thought P&G did a really good job. Love the GE and Maytag sets!

Did you notice...

The Miele and Electrolux canister vacs when he goes from present day to the GE set? Thought that was pretty neat.

Since we're on the subject of Downy, has anyone purchased a bottle of the April Fresh in the last few months? I swore the stuff off when P&G ruined the fragrance but on a whim I purchased a bottle off Amazon as some of the reviews hinted at a change in scent. Oddly enough, it doesn't smell as bad as it used to and I even can pick up subtle hints of the original April Fresh prior to the last change 10 or so years ago. It is not the same scent mind you but there is vague reminiscence to it. Was wondering if anyone had noticed it too?

Chris

I was going to ask about the blue vacuum.

I get Downy at dollartree in the small bottles because I don't use much.  I seems good.  I do like the original scent.  I remember when they were still selling it in the original "messy bottles" in the 70s, that would drip down the sides if you didn't thoroughly rinse the cap out.

Also, the song: Paul Anka- The Times of Your Life.

70s EZ listening radio stations and waiting room play lists wouldn't be complete without it.  Excellent song.

Yes, Miele, and

the second frame has an Electrolux from the 80's.

April Fresh

I have not purchased a bottle in about 7 months. I am finishing my EcoBox still. The scent in tht is certainly better than it used to be. Next time I am at the store I will certainly sniff a bottle!

I wasn't using softener at all for quite some time. I just used white vinegar in the rinse cycle.
But, feeling nostalgic, and pining for the way freshly washed clothes used to smell when coming out of the dryer, I bought a bottle of "April Fresh" Downy. I don't remember how long ago. Maybe a few years. I have to admit, it wasn't the scent I thought I remembered. I've been using it for a while now anyway, and actually bought a new bottle recently.
Lately, I've been alternating between the Downy and "Spring Fresh" Final Touch.
I almost think I prefer the scent of the Final Touch at this point.
I do like this commercial though. As an Electrolux fan, I picked up on that right away. And the song is a perfect fit. It takes me back to my dad's kitchen radio, probably in the 1980s. It was always tuned to AM 1450 WMAS. Their programming was called "The music of your life". I miss that format. I don't do satellite radio, and there's nothing comparable on terrestrial radio in our area. I do still own Dad's old radio though. Too bad I can't get the same sounds to come out of it. 🙁

Barry,
I love a good radio in the kitchen, my grandparents had one and everyday at 4:30 my grandpa would tune in to get the weather forecasts, then turn it off. Radio these days isn’t the same.

Newer formula

Purchased one today. They must have noticed people weren't happy.
The scent is more like the unconcentrated version, and so is the consistency. Smells quite a bit more like the old Febreze April Fresh AIR, though not as much as I would prefer. Once dry, items smell much better than before, IMHO.
