Hi...I own a gold pair of working Maytag Washer and Dryer.

We are moving, hubs doesn't want to take them.

We've got "40 gal of water per load usage" and "easy to fix" vs "their old!"

How do I convince him to take them (I need a good argument)or how to sell than and at what price?

I love using antiques, including cast iron!

Thanks in advance,

MotherLoad

You'll have to post some pictures for us to determine their worth (models/condition).

Vintage appliances are catered to those who can fix and maintain them as well as scour and stash parts for the future. If you don't fit this category, sell them.

If you're moving to where water is plentiful, you might as well take them with you.  Otherwise, yeah, 40 gallons per load is the reason we switched to a front-load washer.

Are you the one who does the laundry?
If so, that's the end of the debate right there.

Not sure how to tag or quote in this software...

@qsd-dan Pictures are difficult at the moment. We are packing the garage, and having work done in that area, so they are covered....stashing parts: hadn't thought of that. Yes, we have replaced many small things. It was a part search that led me to this forum. Which parts would you stash?

@RP2813 Moving to the NW, so yes, water should be plentiful. I think the electric is based on water. I will check on this.

@LowEfficiency Love it!

We used a laundromat recently. I was surprised...1.25 hours, less than $10 for machines, and done for 2 weeks. That makes buying a HE set difficult.
