I am performing a complete overhaul of my early 1980's Inglis washing machine and I am going to use a NOS ( New Old Stock ) FSP Basket Drive # 383930 with gray springs - am I correct in that the gray color indicates a heavy duty ( 18 # ) basket drive ?

Or should I change to the red springs ( + clutch ) I also have in another NOS long tube ? Other than the colour of the springs is this portion of the basket drive interchangeable ?

As I am changing the basket drive mechanism, I will obviously be faced with the issue of lubrication:

(1) What does one do in terms of "TURBINE OIL" ? Especially for the agitator shaft bearing where is calls for EXTRA HEAVY Turbine Oil ( I think it is the element "un-obtanium" )

(2) What do you do for the RYKON grease ( green ? ) that is specified for the upper bearing ?

Thanks for helping me with these questions ! It's a big job, and I don't want to go through this complete overhaul again, because of incorrect springs in the basket drive or lubrication !
