I'm trying to remove the small front plate attached to the soap dispenser drawer on a Miele W5801 washer with slanted fascia panel. At first it seemed to be an easy job, but I simply cannot figure out how to remove it without high risk of breaking something.

Attached is an image I found of an identical drawer with the front plate already removed. It seems like I should just pull straight up, but no luck with that so far.

Any ideas?

I’d say there is a lug at the bottom which would need pushing in with a flat head screwdriver.

You need to remove the plastic card in the front (that's the one with the Miele model numbers written on)use a thin flat headed screwdriver in between the card and the drawer and press it downwards, it should then pop out and the screw should be visible

Miele_User,

Thank you very much, that helped me remove the front plate.

I found out that inserting a toothpick in the space between drawer and plastic card, that became visible after pressing down with the screw driver in one side, made it a little easier to remove the card as it would prevent it snapping back when pressing down in the other side.
