I was at Menards today and I noticed this Criterion washer and dryer. I believe Criterion is an in house brand for Menards, I’ve seen it on microwaves and small fridges but not on a washer and dryer. The model tag says made in China so I guess that’s all we need to know about it but I wonder if these are a rebrand or if it’s an original design.

Looks kind of like a Haier set I saw at Ollies a year or two ago.

Chinese Washers and Dryers

This is the last thing we need to be buying from China when we are still building the worlds best full sized home laundry equipment.

Just Say NO to LG, SS and this other thin flimsy plastic junk.

Looks also like Best Buy's Insignia brand.

Hi Kelly, Your picture is of a Maytag Neptune TL, these were built by MT in Illinois, I did hear that MT sold the design to a Chinese company, was that Midea ?, Are they still making this design ?

My guess is much like the Whirlpool Calypso this neat MT machine was too complicated and expensive to continue building even though both these designs work and lot better than the TL junk designs being built and sold today.

John, the Neptune TL photo is Kelly's user profile picture.  His reference to Midea is in regard to the impeller machine in the opening post.
