I have a series 7 motor pulled from a scrapped aquasmart so either should work. Will a series 6 controller run a series 7 motor? Does anyone have the consoles with the display board that I can get for $25-35? I love all the features that the Intuitive series has but I don't have the budget for new parts or eBay parts. I could also find them in the scrap heap or used appliance store but it takes forever. Please let me know.

IWL12 and IWL15 are Phase 6. A GWL11 can be converted to either by changing the console with display board. Nothing else needs to change. Any topload dryer can be changed to any console version without changing anything else. A Phase 6 board cannot run a Phase 7 stator & rotor ... nor can a Phase 6 board run a Phase 7 stator & rotor. There are physical and electrical differences between the Phase 6 and Phase 7 SmartDrive motors, and the controllers must match accordingly. IWL16 is Phase 7. |

I don't know whether an IWL16 display board will mate to a Phase 6 motor board. It won't if the boards are digitally coded to match. I don't know if damage will occur on a mis-match or if the machine just won't work. Swapping in a Phase 7 stator & rotor along with a Phase 7 ECO* motor board and suitable display board may be doable. The Phase 6 off-balance microswitch is eliminated on Phase 7 so there's nowhere to connect it on a Phase 7 board. Phase 7 (and higher) off-balance detection is via software monitoring of rotational feedback through the RPS. Phase 7 inlet valve assembly is different with the temp thermistor relocated but the electrical characteristics of the solenoids is the same. *An AquaSmart motor board will not work, it cannot run the standard Eco pump and diverter valve. AquaSmart has a completely different 3-phase reversible pump, no diverter valve. Phase 7 AquaSmart also has a different basket size/weight and different tub suspension rods than EcoSmart. |

Are the Power supplies to the consoles different or the same between American models and Aussie models? I found a quite a few Aussie Panels in my Price Range. I can wait 3 weeks for Delivery for one. Or does the American Board send different voltages so a Aussie panel and American panel cannot be swapped? Just the panel only. I know a Aussie Pump will NOT work on an American machine or vice versa. Same with the motor. Are Consoles supplied the same voltage regardless or totally different? Please let me know.
