Hi Y'all,

My honor is riding on this one. My friend says he's looked on the web and contacted the manufacturer, and this switch simply is not available. With a swagger and far more confidence than was perhaps reasonable, I said, "I bet I can find the part..."

So help, y'all, I'd rather not admit defeat!

Sarah

easyapplianceparts at least shows a diagram.....

just to be clear.....

BXW is a GE version

AXW is a Haier version....

for the most part seems to be the same machine....

number 16 seems to be the lid switch

GE......EAP12295519
Haier...EAP4129470

just note, it is their part number, not necessarily the manufacturers number

and note, some have a lid magnetic sensor switch as well....

I will pass on the info. Hopefully, it will help. Do you have any advice for trouble shooting to find out which switch is bad?

usually a simple ohm meter to check continuity....

otherwise, clip the wires and twist them together, this works for most machines....

I guess we have to add a disclaimer that the machine may now operate with the lid open...

the curb

Problem solved. Apparently my friend's client's wife decided honey hadn't done, put the old one on the curb where it was immediately picked up by scrappers and bought a new one. I've gotta say, I admire her decisiveness.
